Thanks Everyone! Obese Old Man Finished a Sprint!

I want to thank this community for all of the insights and support you provide. I mostly lurk here but a couple of weeks ago I finished my first sprint triathlon! For me it is a huge deal.

I trained for about a year and went from ~160kg to ~130kg (360lbs->285lbs) with no GLPs. I'm in my mid 50s and I was athletic when I was younger but I have been obese since starting my career.

I have always been drawn to large goals so I decided that I was going to get off my ass and finish a Sprint. As the event was getting closer I decided that I wanted to get under 2 hours...and I did.

I know most people here are doing much more impressive things but, for me, this was life changing. It has completely restructured my daily routine and I regularly am spending 1-2 hours a day training.

My blood pressure is normal. My resting heart rate is in the high 40s. I feel like I can run or bike for days (Zone 2 for the win!).

I'm going to do a couple of more Sprints this year and then next year I'm looking to do an Olympic.

The other thing that has become completely clear is: I now know how I'm going to go broke.
