Welcome to Minecraft: The Five Ages! It’s my interpretation of what a Minecraft mythology could look like. It’s split into five parts, each referencing a different “age” in the Minecraft world. It’s meant to be more story-based than lore-based.

Age of Legends: Roughly follows the Legends plot, with the Hosts making a return in other ages. Alex is lost and scared, and works with the Hosts to summon the legendary hero Steve. Piglin Seer controls the Orb of Dominance, and the Piglins attack the Overworld, which is initially just a singular giant island. Steve goes to recruit the Villagers and Skeletons in the Plains and Tundra, while Alex recruits the Creepers and Zombies in the Desert and Jungle. Steve dies, but it shows how he can respawning. Each time he dies, his personality slightly changes, which means over a long time he changes a lot. The two of them unite the mobs to stop the Piglins, and succeed, but the orb escapes and the pillagers are slowly corrupted. Creepers represent energy, zombies the flesh, skeletons the bones, and villagers the mind. Using all 4 powers at once, Alex learns the true origin of souls. Alex and Steve are exiled by the Allays for corrupting the Villages.

Age of Dungeons: The pillagers rise up and control the villagers, with Steve and Alex exiled in a land beyond the original continent. Thus, they learn there is more to the world than just one island. The two of them discover enchantment, which massively powers them, and work to rid the influence of the Arch Illager. They stop the Arch Illager, mostly following the Minecraft Dungeons storyline, but Steve is nearly corrupted by the Orb of Dominance and sees a harrowing vision of the past, revealing the backstory of the original war between the Hosts and Herobrine. We learn that Herobrine was a mysterious entity who crafted a Golden Gauntlet to rid the Hosts of their powers. The Hosts banished Herobrine and sealed him, but Herobrine’s soul escaped and became the Orb of Dominance.

Age of Survival: After their long battle, Alex and Steve enter a long slumber and see the world changed. They explore it for a while, reminiscing about their old adventures, until strange End Ships come from an odd rift. The two of them board the ships, and discover the End. More rifts appear until the Hosts burst onto the scene, awake from their slumber. Steve feels odd, but the two of them fight off against each Host, who each controls one dimension. The pink one (Foresight) controls the End, and creates the Ender Dragon that Steve runs away from. Alex and Steve go back and fight the three hosts across the dimensions, until they enter the Sealing Land, where Herobrine was originally sealed. Steve takes Herobrine’s Golden Gauntlet, and strips the Hosts/Admins of most of their power. The Hosts reincarnate themselves as the Admins (Foresight becomes Xara, Action becomes Romeo, Knowledge becomes Fred) and escape to another world. However, the Gauntlet has too much power, and escapes along with the Admins. By using the gauntlet, Steve is gone, and Herobrine is incarnated into him. Alex sacrifices herself to stop them both, and splits both her and Steve into seven souls to re-inhabit the world.

Age of Creation: The Seven Souls inhabit the world as the seven new default skins. They become known as the Old Builders and peacefully wander around the Minecraft world, creating a utopia. Some of them are familiar to Story Mode players: Ari is a pre-incarnated version of Mevia, Kai is Hadrian, Zuri is Otto, and Noor is Harper. Each of them become like demigods, with the other Old Builders each inhabiting a part of the world. Efe becomes a guardian of the sky, Makena becomes a guardian of the sea, and Sunny becomes a guardian of the earth. Ari/Mevia fights using only a single stick, but has hyperbuffed enchantments. Zuri/Otto exploits potion effects to his advantage, Kai/Hadrian is a perfect builder with world-edit style powers, and Noor/Harper is a master tinkerer who discovers the Command Block. However, the Command Block was formed from the Orb of Dominance, and it causes the four Story Mode Old Builders to rebel against the three others (Efe/Makena/Sunny), waging war against them and defeating them. However, as the four attempt to seize control of the entire world, they find the barren outlines of the Portal Network, containing an infinite amount of portals. They use their combined powers to activate all of them and migrate to another world, thus leaving the original world in peace.

Age of Stories: Mostly an epilogue, explaining how the Old Builders became kooky and only cared about entertainment through the Games, and established the MSM world starting from the Hosts/Admins. After that, it’s mostly just a retelling of Minecraft: Story Mode.
