My brother recently had his C1/D visa interview for a cruise ship position with Royal Caribbean and unfortunately got denied. He has a legitimate job offer and has been working in customer service roles in hospitality jobs across different countries for years with no issues. Everything on the employer side is solid.

During the interview, the officer mentioned “lack of strong ties to Morocco” as the main concern. What’s confusing is that both of us (his siblings) currently live in the U.S. legally, and it seems like this may have worked against him in terms of perceived ties back home.

We’re trying to understand if this is common for C1/D cases or if anyone has experienced something similar. Any advice on how to better demonstrate ties or improve chances in a reapplication would really help.

Appreciate any insight from people who’ve gone through cruise visa interviews or had denials like this.
