Hello everybody,

two weeks ago one of my chinchillas had to undergo emergency surgery, and his leg had to be amputated. I separated the two of them, and he has been recovering in a separate cage, though they were still able to see and smell each other. I was recently cleared to reintroduce them, so I tried to do it slowly, but now they fight and scream at each other.

Does it just take more time, or do you have any suggestions I could try? I really don’t want them to be separated any longer.
