I hope this isn't a community that'll judge me too hard for not loving Gorillaz forever ago, I liked a few of their hits from earlier albums but wasn't THAT familiar with them.
But now, I have kids (7 & 9) and they have became obsessed. I have been screening all songs, albums, music videos to find ones that aren't too wildly inappropriate. They have a playlist of their couple dozen favorite songs so far, adding more as something piques their interest. They want to know all the lore. They made Gorillaz out of perler beads. We play Gorillaz in the car. We play Gorillaz at home. I play Gorillaz while they're at school. Our previous playlist was exclusively Disney songs. I couldn't even tell you what my favorite band was because I don't remember the last time I had listened to new music that wasn't geared specifically towards children. And now I'm listening to albums on repeat. I'll be scrolling through this sub trying to get a feel for others' favorite songs/albums/videos to see if there's some that we haven't given a good chance to yet, while I enjoy this new era of my life!
