What do you think about active abilities in TD games?
Just added a new ability to the playtest of our TD game. The players seem to really like it, what do you think?
Game is called "Sir, We Have an Orc Problem" and you can test it yourself with the open playtest on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4594150/Sir_We_Have_an_Orc_Problem
This is using the Godot Engine, but the simulation + rendering is all done via custom shaders. So the game is actually very light on the CPU and uses mostly the GPU.
The open playtest is available on Steam and contains 60-90min of content. Controls are not optimised for controller / Steam Deck yet, but as it's basically a mouse-only game it's definitely playable with the trackpad (and touch too). If you find any issues while playing please report them to us, so we can fix them as fast as possible!

Tower Defense with incremental-style upgrades. The playtest contains 3 different towers and the first 5 levels. You will need 90-120 min to finish all levels from what we've seen so far.
