Best way to get GAP insurance after already buying my car?
I bought a new Honda Accord hybrid in March, and unfortunately I decided not to get GAP insurance at the dealership. Looking back, that was definitely a mistake, and now I'm trying to figure out the best option to add GAP coverage or something equivalent.
My current loan is at 4.49% APR. I've looked into refinancing through other banks and credit unions that offer GAP, but none of the rates are equal to or just slightly higher, they are over 2%.
I currently use Gieco for auto insurance, but they do not offer GAP or loan payoff coverage. I also got quotes from Allstate and Farmer's insurance, but their premium is $60 more per month than my existing one with same coverages and deductables, just adding the gap or loan payoff coverage.
I'm trying to find the best and most affordable option for:
Standalone GAP insurance.
Loan/lease payoff coverage.
Insurance companies that offer affordable GAP coverage.
Any alternative protection options that work similarly to GAP.
I'd really appreciate any advice, recommendations, or personal experiences from people who were in a similar situation. Thanks in advance for the help.
