My jaw has been locked open for almost 48 hours. My teeth can’t touch and I can’t chew but my mouth is still able to close and I can speak!

I saw Dr. Loyola and was quoted $1800 for a steroid injection into the joint, which is really expensive. I called the LSU dental school, but they don’t have anyone in right now.

Should I try going to UMC or another ER with oral surgery?

Has anyone dealt with this before? Should I go to an ER with oral surgery, keep calling around, or just pay for the injection?
