Much discussion has been had about the looks and personality correlation, mostly pointing out how looks halos your personality. That's true, but it doesn't mean the relationship is unidirectional.
I know what you're going to say. Personality is irrelevant for dating if you're under the looks threshold. True. However, personality isn't a switch you can flick once you finally get over the looks threshold. It has to be developed. Being antisocial, unempathetic, and not having anything to talk about will failo your looks.
Start working on your personality so you're ready for when you ascend. Volunteer in your local community for something you're interested in. Practice small talk and expand your general knowledge so you can be better at it. Even if it's just watching SciShow etc. having a little knowledge will help.
