I am a new driver, started around 2 months ago.

Today, while driving around a roundabout, I got momentarily distracted, and rear-ended a motorbike. The rider fell off.

I immediately stopped the car at the sidr and went to him, started apologizing for my mistake, and promised him I'll pay whatever the amount for his and his bike's damages are.

The person got hurt a little on his knees and elbows, and the bike got a little damaged from the behind. Nothing too much happened as I was going slow.

He was a good man, he accepted my apology and I paid him some amount, and I left from there. Called him after sometime to apologise again as I was feeling extremely guilty.

This has shattered my confidence in driving, I don't know what to feel right now. The only thing that keeps replaying in my mind is "What if things got worse?", "What if I hadn't hit the brakes?". Feeling guilty and afraid of driving, feeling like I'm not meant for it.

PS-) Thank you guys for your reassurance, really means a lot.
