This is a bit of an unusual one. I live in an 18th century building in Lisbon with a stone basement. For three years water has entered the basement around the floor level when there's very heavy rain (this year was worse than previous years because of the very bad weather). A year ago I installed a French drain around the outside where it seemed water would flow. This didn't help.
I've been working with local engineers here on the solution and I'm really unimpressed by how slow they have been. I've reached the point where I'm willing to pay the cost of flying someone from the UK (or Spain or France) to Portugal and getting them to fix it.
Are there any UK, French or Spanish companies that are experts in this sort of thing who'd like a holiday in Portugal? 😄
