My dad had mini strokes three years ago and it has developed into mild dementia. He is 83. On his most recent scan his neurologist noticed a bump on his nasal region and referred him to an ent. We've had two appointments with the ent and the latest info is the ear nose and throat doctor thinks he needs surgery on his nasal to remove the mass. It's either a polyp or an inverted papilloma but theres no way to tell until its out. He would have to undergo anesthesia. Which to what I am reading could make his dementia much worse permanently. Any advice on this? Thank you in advance. edit- a word. also adding- they are recommending general anesthesia.
