This is me and my family experience so it’s great that others may have had a good experience but here is the other side of things that parents need to see when looking to see if this is a good fit .
Overall my child had a horrible experience in the school . He attended the 5th grade here and was bullied by other children , kicked in his face , his stomach and called homophobic slurs. I reported every incident and the school did nothing about it. As a matter of fact they would try to blame my son for his own bullying and also try to paint him as a liar. They reward children who display bad behavior. Not only that, the 5th grade math teacher Ms. Jones harassed and bullied my son , and the most insidious infraction was her pulling his ear . When I reached out to the school about what was done, even with it being on camera, they refused to fire her. She broke the law and they still kept her. The principal said “she’s done so much good for the community that she will not fire her over one parent” . Even though the abuse wasn’t against one parent but a child. They kept the teacher and my child was afraid to return to math in fear of retaliation. Mind you this was done the week of the state test, the most important time for a 5th grader .As a parent I used my legal right of freedom of speech and protest against them keeping this teacher and the school staff decided to gaslight the community and other parents and say that what my son is saying is a lie. To state that a child will lie about abuse by an adult is asinine. The other parents are tight knit so as long as it’s not their child getting bullied by a teacher they can care less. I say this to say beware of sending your child here. If you aren’t an outspoken person you would fit in. But if you call out bullying and the school protecting their public image they will try to paint you as irate and a liar . My son was already intelligent before entering here , everything they taught him he already knew. The teachers are on their phones doing Tik toks talking about their boyfriends and eating at the desk. The school does its best to keep a clean image but looks are very misleading. Use your discernment before considering this school. There are better public schools .
