On May 2, 2016, Nickelodeon introduced us to The Loud House, which, despite its controversies, has become their top alternative to their top cartoon, SpongeBob SquarePants, which I have been watching since childhood.
At first, I wasn't really into it back in 2016, but sometime later, I was browsing this voice actors website, and I discovered that The Loud House has one of my favorite VAs, Lara Jill Miller, who is known for voicing Hikari "Kari" Kamiya from "Digimon", Widget from "Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!", and Libby Stein-Torres from "The Ghost & Molly McGee". However, I was still hesitant to give The Loud House a try.
Then, in 2024, Paramount+ began showing trailers and teasers for their upcoming Loud House movie, No Time To Spy, and having watched James Bond in the past, I had to check this movie out, and holy moly, I just loved it. From that point forward, I had to watch the show from the start, and the more I watched, the more I regretted ever sleeping on it all those years ago. Then, I saw the fanfics and fan art, and I decided to give it a try as well. In short, I found myself in the fanbase.
Then, I saw the news of the show being stuck in a renewal limbo due to Paramount's merger with Skydance, and since then, there has been debate about whether Nickelodeon will continue the show or if it'll be gone. For me, I'm hoping that The Loud House continues as long as SpongeBob has been around because I have seen complaints about Nickelodeon focusing more on SpongeBob than any of their other shows. In fact, all I wish for Nickelodeon is to get their act together and provide alternatives to SpongeBob, but with their most recent cartoon, Wylde Pak, coming to a close (or so I've seen lately) and the fate of "Rock Paper Scissor" being unknown, The Loud House is all we have left. Otherwise, with The Loud House gone, Nickelodeon's future will surely be bleak, and we could all potentially lose yet another piece of our childhood after what we had to go through in the past.
So, here I am in 2026, doing my best to celebrate the 10 years of this very franchise while hoping that the show will continue and keep Nickelodeon from being known as "the SpongeBob Company".
Is that too much to ask for?
