I recently upgraded my camera to a Sony A7V with a Tamron 25-200 Di iii G2, previously using a Canon Rebel T7i. I’ve watched a lot of videos on shooting street photography on manual focus and choosing your distance and leaving it as is while you shoot.
The problem I’m finding is that my lens doesn’t have the markers letting you know what distance is in focus at certain apertures.
I read that the A7V has it built into the camera but when I use it the meter only shows the distance of focus. Not the range.
The guy I bought the camera and lens from at his photo store told me that I shouldn’t worry about manual and just shoot auto since it is really good on the A7V. Is he correct?
So my question is, do you shoot manual or auto for street photography with this camera? If you use manual, how do you go about it?
