Basically, I got a savings card online for Trulicity around April 2024 (which I was taking at the time), brought it to Walgreens and it reduced my cost of the medication to $25 a month. Before that with my insurance it would've been around $500 a month.

I switched to Mounjaro about a year ago (April 2025) and asked if I had to switch coupon codes at Walgreens. They said no, it would still apply and I didn't have to worry about it.

I have been paying $25 a month for Mounjaro for about a year up until today, where I went to fill my prescription for May and was told my cost would be $400. They said that is the cost even when running the savings card. I didn't pay for it; I just told them I needed to figure out my options. No way can I afford that every month. It looks like with my insurance; I'd be paying around $550 a month without the coupon.

All I can really find about the savings card is that I need commercial insurance (which I do), need to have type 2 diabetes (which I do) and do not have any government assistance (which I also do not.) I understand there is a limit per year, but the year just started, so I don't think I've hit that total yet.

I am wondering what I should do. I did reach out to my endocrinologist just in case, but they are so busy that I might not hear back for a few days. Has anyone been through this situation before? Any advice?
