Lots of changes this season.
I can't help but wonder with all the changes going on with the Ravens if this isn't the season we stop seeing MO in the end zone.
While I REALLY don't want to see it go away, I understand if it does. It going on six years, it has been a great tribute to a legendary fan. He will forever be an example for all of us.
I hope the tribute continues, but I won't be *too* upset if it doesn't.
I have been trying to read up on the guy. Not a lot of recent information. What are the odds this guy makes the roster? What I am reading he doesn't sound terrible.
My whole family is Webb fans. All three of us have Webb jerseys.
Here is why.
When my kid was little she would always make get well cards for injured Ravens and send them to the Castle. Never got a response but she did it anyway.
Well when Webb blew his ACL his rookie year, she got right to making him a get well card.
I found out he was doing a signing at the mall around the corner. I asked her if she wanted to hand deliver it and she thought it was a great idea.
So, the date of the signing comes up and we head to the mall. He was a rookie and didn't carry that big of a name so I didn't get a ticket in advance. Mistake.
So we get there and the line is huge. I go to get a ticket and they are sold out.
I explaine to the guy at the door the situation and ask if she can just hand deliver the card. He said it wasn't up to him, but he would ask.
He goes and talks to some guy (agent? Manager?) he comes up to me and asks me for clarification. I told him the story and our intentions. He said that's super kind and sweet. He tell me to get in line.
So we go to the end of the line and we wait. A good hour or so. We finally get to the table and she hands him the card. He breaks a big huge smile. Get up, jacked up leg and all. Hobbles his way around the table and gives her a big hug.
We go to leave he says "Hang on" grabs a football from his stuff and signs is
"Dear [name] thank you for the card. Love your friend always Lardarius Webb 21"
My kid was floating for WEEKS!!!!! You couldn't wipe the smile off her face. She called the jacket she was wearing "her Lardarius Webb hug jacket"
Super classy of him. He didn't have to do all that but he did. Fan of the guy for life.
