Hi everyone,

I’m starting to busk and I’m facing a technical dead-end.

My Setup:

  • Laptop running Ableton Live.
  • MIDI Pads & Keyboard.
  • Live acoustic instruments/vocals mixed in.
  • Current Speaker: JBL PartyBox Encore Essential 2.

The Problem: I’m experiencing noticeable latency with the JBL, even when using the Aux/Line-in. It seems the internal DSP (Digital Signal Processing) of the speaker adds a delay that makes live finger-drumming and tight electronic performances impossible.

What I’m looking for: I need a battery-powered speaker with zero latency (direct analog path).

  • Sound: I need solid bass for electronic beats but a warm, clear sound for acoustic elements (some acoustic drums loops for exemple)
  • Budget: Around €200 - €300 (open to buying used).
  • Portability: I need to carry it around the city.

I’ve been looking at the Roland Street Cube or Behringer MPA series, but I'm worried about the bass response for electronic music compared to the JBL.

Does anyone have experience with a portable, battery-powered speaker that handles sub-bass well without adding processing latency?

Thanks for the help!
