I have lived in Shenandoah Valley all my life and one time my family and family friends called the cops on one. It was hanging on a fence making a screech and then finally jumped off and crawled on all fours back into the woods. The most natural crawl I've ever seen and fast deep into the pitch black woods. We thought maybe a guy on drugs but the mouth was sooo big making the screech and the crawl was so fast and natural moving fast because you could hear it crawl back into the woods. Cops looked nothing was up there. After exploring in the area I saw it with my brother (I was 14 he was 13 at the time) we found a gun and of course my mom called the cops again and we took the cops where we found it and I wondered who just loses a gun? It had been up there for a while based on the guns condition. I found out there were indigenous people in the valley and descendents still alive today. Maybe they can help with this.
