I built a small open tool that randomly selects a genre from the Every Noise at Once database (~6,000 genres).
It’s a simple experiment in making genre discovery a bit more approachable without navigating the full genre tree.

I made this little web/tool to roll a random genre between the 6291 genres available at Every Noise at Once.
I always loved music and when I discovered Every Noise at Once I new i found an incredible way of finding genres i never heard of before. Even though Every Noise at Once laked something, i wanted to roll a random genre without getting overwhelmed with that giant tree of links. That leaded to a rabbithole of more websites to discover music (because i love to find websites for almos anything btw, maybe that could lead to something)
That’s how I ended up building this.
For someone with very little coding experience, I’m honestly impressed I managed to put this together.
I’m still pretty new to web development, but I wanted to start with a small project to experiment, break things, and learn along the way.
Right now it’s still rough around the edges, but I already have a few features planned that will hopefully turn it into a small hub for anyone who enjoys discovering new music.
