Garden bed and a new fence Ca
Hi all,
I’m looking for advice and want to know what legal rights I have.
I rented a house for the past year that has a separate mother in law suite in the back that is also rented out. All year we have lived fine with a shared back yard. I built a garden bed in the back yard, it is removable, but it will take a lot of effort.
Well my lease is up on the 19th, and the person in the back lot moved out. So i decided to move in to that space instead and pay less.
I moved in on the 5th.
Now the landlady is out of the country, so she uses a 3rd party to manage the property. I have a really good relationship with them, have never met her. I get a notice saying that there has been a request from the landlady to build a fence. The manager gave her an idea of how the fence could go. She ignored it and now the fence is going to go right over my garden bed, and I have to move it.
At this point it’s verrryy inconvenient for me since I just planted seeds in the garden bed and they have started sprouting.
What rights do I have? What can I do in this situation? Especially being that I have both leases until Tuesday.
