Hi everyone, I'm new to this subreddit. I used to play a lot of competitive shooters and a lot of competitive Fortnite. Now, due to university and studying, I have less time, so I mostly enjoy single-player games with a controller or mouse and keyboard (depending on the game), or I play some competitive games more casually with friends who want to play and win a few matches together.
I've tried a lot of mice before, but in 2018 I switched to the G502 Hero. I loved its precision and comfort (I have relatively big hands), but I hated the fact that it was pretty heavy. Over time I got used to it and even achieved good results, but I’ve always wanted something lighter. However, I never spent more money on peripherals other than a GK61 with yellow switches.
The problem is that my G502 is getting worse: it often double-clicks, sometimes doesn’t register when I hold down the left click, and other issues. I even changed the skates, but it’s really worn out now.
Recently, I did some work for a wealthy guy—fixing his PC, Wi-Fi, and other stuff—for about 5–6 hours. He’s also a competitive player and wanted to pay me around 50 euros (or whatever I asked), but since he’s a close friend of a close friend of mine, I didn’t ask for anything. He then said, “I heard you have problems with your mouse, I’ll gift you one.”
Long story short, he gave me an Acer Starlight GM1000 (paid 30 euros)… what a piece of *****.
Now, as a student, I don’t have much money. The G502 still works (but not as well as it used to), and I’m thinking about buying a new mouse. I don’t want to spend too much—around €35, max €50. I live in Italy and would probably buy it on Amazon. I was considering the G305 because it’s wireless and a lot lighter than the G502. (The G305 costs about 36 euros [I have Prime Student])
Thanks for reading this, and I’m really curious to hear your opinions and suggestions!
