So I turned in my final project for English. My professor graded it and I went to look at my grade. I received an F and she mentioned something about the formatting being weird a bolded and that it’s a sign of AI. For the record I never use AI and I’ve been working on this assignment for the last 8 weeks and she always gave me good feedback and I was always within a A range. I went and opened my original paper from my word and it looked fine so I was confused on what she meant by weird bolded font. I went into brightspace and opened it from there and it opened weird, random lines were bolded etc. (the first picture is the brightspace version, the second picture is my original document) I thought maybe a glitch when I ran the turnitin in word to check my citations bc sometimes I forget to add one somewhere or I just forgot to put my citation in all together so I always run the citation checker to confirm. Then I remembered the only thing I did differently this time around was use the APA style template. Normally I set the page up myself but I decided to use the template this time around just to make my life easier. What would cause it to change my formatting the way it did from my original document? I would like to prevent this from happening again but then again I’m not sure what could have caused this other than the word template I used. Thanks in advance
Edit: I spoke with the IT department today. It appears when I ran it through turnitin it changed my formatting. Thank you for all the help you guys as well! I resubmitted today but made sure to save as a PDF and I will continue to do so!
