I released my debut single just a couple of days ago.
It’s called “Craniotomy,” and it’s about depression. It’s something I’ve experienced firsthand, and I’ve always wanted to write about it—not just as a way to vent, but also to offer some comfort to anyone going through something similar.
Basically, the person in the song feels so desperate that they misinterpret the idea that “heaven is within us.” Since nothing has worked so far, they take it literally and decide to undergo a craniotomy—an actual surgical procedure—to try to “fix” their mind.
Of course, it doesn’t work, and in the end they feel even worse than before.
The song concludes with this person wishing they could start their life over from scratch, a thought that tends to stick with you when you’re dealing with depression.
