Hi guys, i need a bit of advice
I started going offroad with a middle weight adv, i really love the feeling, but it's pretty heavy at 230kg (507lb) and im really afraid of dropping it.
I want to get a dual sport or something light to actually enjoy.
My options are:
- honda crf300l
- ktm 390 enduro r
- ktm 390 adventure r
Let's start with crf300l, the ones i find second hand are about 5000€ (5800$) without the modified suspension, so i would most likely want to add that as a must mod. This is the lightest bike with around 142kg(313lb). A new model is about 6800€(8000$).
Ktm 390 enduro R looks the best in my opinion, but its about 20kg(44lb) heavier than the crf with the wet weight of 165kg(363lb), also the 9L gas tank kinda gives me anxiety a bit. This one is 6000€(7000$)
Ktm 390 adventure R solves the problem with the tank but it's 11kg(24lb) heavier at 176kg(388lb) and its about 7300€(8500$), which is a bit much for me.
I have a lot of trails and places to go offroad near me, i have to go max. 30km(18.5mi) from home to get to all kinds of terrain, so i won't do much street riding with this bike, with 1 occasion per year where i get to go about 200km(124mi) trips split in multiple days, so again not a problem.
I don't ride on the highways, also i would go max 90-100km/h (50-55mph) on the street.
Which one would be the best option?
I tend to like the enduro R the most
I'm 1.78cm(5'9") with 81kg(178lb)
