How are people affording $150+ basics from brands like Witchery/Assembly Label without getting bored?

I’ve been browsing this sub for a while and noticed many recommendations are from pricier brands where a single item can be $150 or more (like Witchery and Assembly Label).

Genuine question, do you all just shop less often?
I tend to buy a few pieces every 2–3 months. If I spent that much on one item, I feel like I’d hold myself back from shopping again for a long time. I also wonder if I’d get bored wearing the same expensive pieces repeatedly.

So I’m curious how others approach this:

Do you buy fewer items but wear them for years?
Do you not feel the urge to refresh your wardrobe often?
Is the quality really that different that it feels worth it?
Or you’re restyling it in many ways? (Which I am not)

Trying to understand the mindset because I clearly shop very differently.

Updating my wardrobe is costing me a lot, how do you save money while shopping?

I’m trying to refresh my wardrobe with better basics and versatile pieces, but I feel like I’m spending way more than I expected.

I’ve looked on Depop and found great items, but paying $12 shipping to each seller adds up fast. New items in stores are also expensive, especially when you’re trying to build a cohesive wardrobe.

How do you update your wardrobe without losing so much money?
Any tips for saving on shipping, buying smarter, or planning purchases better?

Would love practical advice from people who’ve done this successfully.

My husband is 28.

Recent labs:

Total testosterone: 5.7 nmol/L (ref 6–28)

SHBG: 5 nmol/L (ref 15–50)

Free testosterone: 207 pmol/L (borderline low)

HbA1c: 9.1% (type 2 diabetes)

BMI: 34.5

Weight: 102 kgs

High triglycerides and cholesterol

He has very low libido and symptoms since we got married (for over a year). It’s been hard for me

GP suggested focusing on weight loss and metabolic control first and mentioned weight-loss meds. Probably according to him visiting an endo rightnow is not necessary. The lab comment says to check LH/FSH to investigate the low testosterone.

Given his age, symptoms, and that we want to conceive in next 5-6 months, would you push for an endocrinology referral now to evaluate LH/FSH and discuss fertility-safe options (like clomiphene/hCG), or is it standard to try weight loss alone first in cases like this?

Looking for guidance on the right sequence here.

I sit for long hours at a desk and get occasional lower back pain. What products or setup changes actually helped you (lumbar cushion, seat cushion, standing desk, etc.)?
