Hi, I am looking into obtaining a lawyer for my apartment problems. I moved into a new complex last month. Literally couldn't use my shower because before I moved in I noticed a bunch of mold on the grout and shower door. I submitted a maintenance request, put it on my move in condition form and walked through the request with the building manager. It took them 2 weeks to get a contractor to fix the problem. It was bad enough that they hired a contractor to take out and replace the shower floor and shower curb. Now I've finally used my shower and after 2 showers, I noticed a large puddle of water from the shower siting on the shower curb that leaked out from the door. I touched the sealant, the sealant isn't thick enough across the door. It's cut shorter where the water leaked. Plus I could splash the water around and looked under the mat to see why it was leaking. I've been in constant contact with the complex and thankfully they aren't charging me for the repairs, but this now brings the issue of possibly being charged for this. At this point, I think I'm entitled to some kind of compensation for my apartment still not being ready for full use after a month of living here. Do I have a case?
