Hi everyone,

My name is Justin Ambrosino, and I own The Body Shop Appraiser Inc., a Worcester-area business focused on automotive damage appraisals and insurance claim consulting for collision repair shops.

I’m looking for a WPI student or developer with solid experience in web application development to build a custom internal system for my business operations. This is not a “concept” project — I already have a well-defined structure in place.

Current State (Important):

I’ve built out a multi-sheet spreadsheet that effectively serves as a:

- Data model (entities, fields, relationships)

- Workflow specification (job lifecycle, status tracking, user actions)

- Functional outline of the system

The goal is to translate this into a working web application.

---

Core System Requirements:

  1. Multi-Tenant Client Structure

- Body shops = primary client accounts

- Each shop can have multiple jobs (vehicle owners)

- Proper relational structure between:

- Shops

- Vehicle owners

- Vehicles

- Jobs / Appraisal files

  1. Job / File Management System

- Create and manage appraisal files per vehicle

- Track job types (supplement, total loss, etc.)

- Status tracking + internal notes

- Dashboard view of active/inactive files

  1. File & Media Storage

- Upload and associate:

- Photos

- Estimates

- Supplements

- Supporting documents

- Organized per job/file

- Cloud storage integration preferred

  1. Billing + Commission Logic

- Ability to track payments received

- Automated calculations based on:

- Supplement totals

- Total loss settlement increases

- Configurable commission structure (percentage-based)

  1. Authentication / User Roles

- Admin (me)

- Body shop users:

- Login access

- Submit new supplement inspection requests

- (Phase 2) Expanded permissions for document exchange and communication

  1. Request Intake System

- Shops can submit new jobs through their portal

- Attach initial documentation/photos

- Feed directly into my workflow/dashboard

---

Tech Considerations:

I’m open to stack recommendations, but preference is:

- Web-based app (desktop-first, mobile-friendly)

- Clean, scalable architecture

- Cloud-hosted (AWS, Firebase, Supabase, etc.)

- Efficient development approach (including AI-assisted workflows if applicable)

---

Future Scope (Important):

This project has clear expansion potential into a full SaaS platform for collision repair shops. I already have a broader shop management system mapped out separately.

If this is built well, there is potential for:

- Ongoing development work

- Long-term partnership/equity discussion

---

Compensation:

- Paid project (scope-based or hourly — open to discussion)

- Additional work post-MVP likely

---

What I’m Looking For:

- Someone who understands relational data modeling + backend logic

- Experience building real applications (not just coursework)

- Ability to translate structured specs into a clean, usable system

- Bonus if you’ve worked with:

- File storage systems

- Auth systems

- Dashboard-style UIs

If you’re interested, reach out and I can share the spreadsheet and walk you through the system design in detail. Ability to share past work / projects a huge plus.

Thank you.
