Wanted to make Peridot and I went for her looking smug, referencing the second photo. Had to cover quite a bit of her face to get the proportions looking somewhat right. Maybe there’s still a few things to smooth out (I just noticed her forehead is more angled than it should be) but I’m quite happy how it turned out.

Just writing this cause I found it funny. Yesterday I want out for a 70km ride. I had to leave my spare tubes & multitool since I had to carry some other tools, and my saddle bag was too small to fit them all. I didn’t think much of it, since for the 2+ years I have been cycling I never had an issue with my bike while cycling.

And lo and behold, just after the halfway point and having a good lunch, my front tire had a small puncture on the way back. It’s a pair of Conti 5000 set up tubeless, and for the one and a half years I’ve had them they never had a puncture. Not even once. It had plenty of life left in it, tread wear indicator was still fine. It happened on a quite a smooth road as well, with no rocks or debris.

I was quite surprised, and didn’t know how to handle it since I never experienced a puncture before. The sealant didn’t seem to work and it just kept leaking air for five minutes. Thankfully, after the pressure was lowered quite a bit the sealant did its job and I was able to ride back home.

While luckily I was able to fix the tire, if the puncture was a bit bigger I would’ve needed to use my spare tubes. It was a close call. So the moral of the story is: always bring a repair kit if you don’t want to be stranded hours away from home. Also get an electric pump cause my arms are sore trying to pump a tire with a dinky little hand pump.

TL;DR: Didn’t bring a repair kit for the first time, had a puncture for the first time, always bring a repair kit
