Hi!

Just visited Netherlands and germany. What puzzled me was how people tend to behave on local and longer distance trains.

If there was two seats, people would sit on the one that was nearest the hallway, and not the window one. Even if the train was full. Some people seemed to be very angry if I would sit next to them even there was no room elsewhere.

Where I come from it is common to sit next to window and give room for others. So what is going on here?
