I’m new, I only recently got into hololive as a way of studying Japanese. Apologies, I don’t know very much about these people yet.

I’m currently watching mikochi’s stream of keep talking and no one explodes”with Subaru. And there have been a few times throughout the stream where Subaru has had to explain the meaning of a seemingly fairly basic word to Mikochi that I’d expect a native speaker to likely already know.

Is Japanese not her first language? Apologies if this comes off as rude, I don’t mean it to, I’m just a bit confused. Thanks for any insight!

Edit 2: Whoa, for some reason this post got a lot more attention than I was expecting. I feel bad, I really don’t want to insult her. I’d like to clarify, this is not about her pronunciation, I did not notice anything wrong with that, just her knowledge of certain vocab.

It’s just this icy place so far away from the other states. What reason do we have to own that land? Did we just want a nice round number?
