Used Car shopping as a widow/single mother, advice please! 2024 S vs 2023 SX-Prestige
I am considering both of these vehicles as my first ever financed car purchase. I am a single mother and recently widowed, so this is new territory for me and I appreciate any insight or even helpful tips for dealing with used cars sales reps! Ideally I want something reliable/best value.
Both cars are roughly the same price point, same color. Both have sunroof packages. Different engines/transmissions I know nothing about… 2023 prestige: 2.5L I4 DGI Turbocharged DOHC 16V LEV3-ULEV70 281hp/ 8-Speed DCT. 2024 S: 2.5L I4 DGI DOHC 16V LEV3-SULEV30/ 8 speed automatic.
2023 SX Prestige caught my eye first. It has 45k miles on it and is out of state but able to be transferred for free to the local car dealer. In 2023 it’s noted on the car fax it was in a minor accident, front passenger side. Airbags not deployed. From the dealer photos I saw no indication of visible damage/looks like it was repaired. It has been under inspection for a week, so has not been transferred yet. They were “waiting on parts that got delayed. Nothing major.” Priced $30,990
2024 S has 25k miles on it. And is at the local dealership. It was a leased vehicle turned in after one year. The second owner only had it for 6 months. There is an open recall noted on the carfax… Manufacturer Safety Recall issued NHTSA #25V006 Recall #SC331 BDC LOGIC IMPROVEMENT. looks like a pretty straightforward/simple fix. Priced $29,650
