I just snapped a carbon fiber tube, how should I go about fixing it?

Since everything I Google involves bikes, I figured I ask here.

I snapped this carbon fiber tube (tiller extension) recently, just wondering how I should go about fixing it. It doesn't need to look pretty, just got to work as a stick again. (2.3 m tube snapped right in the middle).

I was thing I put a PVC/some other cheap tubing on the inside to align it and wrap it in carbon and dab epoxy onto it?
