My picture was about as shit as my nearsighted ass vision, but I can tell you it looked sort of like a gray chicken. It cooed in a repetitive manner and flapped its wings when it did so, which had some white under them. Went to get my glasses and it was gone, probably flew away. This was in chandler

Iron Farms have been rendered useless by Mojang (MC-301649)

If you're wondering why your Iron Farm's been a piece of shit lately, no, you can't reset it, and no, it isn't your fault, this was intentional

The rest of the body is the rant, so if you do not care for what I have to say, you can ignore what comes after.

Mojang seems to have been confusing grind with meaningful gameplay, this is not the case. Back before around 1.13ish the core gameplay loop was simple enough, Build house, Build wheat farm, Get Bread, Mine for 30 minutes, Build shit. The intended gameplay loop nowadays involves a bed and 8 double chests, 5 hours of mining, the ender dragon and the elytra, 5 hours of bedbombing the nether to get netherite and bastion raiding, and then you do what you want by going braindead and holding left click until you're growing gray hair.

Mojang does not want you to shortcut even a single step of these chores, whether it's removing the string duper (a change no one needed nor asked for). adding deepslate to remove instamining to ensure you must spend twice the amount of time dealing with these modern day meager ore distributions (effectively quadrupling how long it takes to get anything substantial, even iron seeing how much there was in pre-1.17) to now removing iron farms, which is again, a change no one needed nor asked for. If you would like to cave half of the resources are unreachable due to how comically large they are nowadays, and mojang seems to be obsessed with this, even proposing a villager trade nerf where it involved kiting villagers from Hyrule, breeding them in Sasau, having to sail them throughout Lordran and Ashina, and taking them to the Lands Between to be able to get the trade that you want in your base, the cherry on top is that you now have to anvil multiple copies of the same enchant only to be greeted with "Too Expensive" just to piss you off. XP farming has also been nerfed, the classic darkroom farm that has existed since time immemorial was completely ruined a few years back. No, mojang, this does not make it harder, and mojang is adamant on refusing to add any substantial challenges to the game.

All of these changes have been anti-QoL, Deepslate exists to only make mining shit, the string duper, which was useful for map art and villager trading without having to larp as the pacific lumber company in mega taigas, and iron farms were more useful as building resources for frivilous things like railways and roller coasters (the entire point of minecraft) than actual gear by the time you actually got to building one. They also, still have not removed too expensive.

Tl;dr : No, Mojang, Grinding doesnt make your game more fun, it makes your game feel like a job.
