How important is the clutch?
Hello fellow sim rally fans. I am relatively new to sim racing and rally in general and got my setup like a year ago, which was only a wheel, gas and break pedal. I started with Forza, F1 and Assetto Corsa but after trying out dr 2.0 (I know it’s Arcady) I really got hooked with rally. So the decision was made quickly and I added the hand break. And now yesterday I saw a video of a guy ripping it through Monte Carlo. First I thought he was bad because after every corner his car was screaming and I thought he needs to shift gears . But the comments said he used the clutch in transitions and after turns to let the car stabilize itself.
Now I come to the main question. Is this as important as it sounds? Do you guy really do that every corner. Is a clutch must have? I bound a key on the wheel to the clutch so I can „kick it“ incase I need the revs but I never thought about it more.
