Tiers of Kung Lao: Ranking Mortal Kombat Fatalities

Tiers of Kung Lao: Ranking Mortal Kombat Fatalities

The boys head to the Outworld to rank every single fatality from the first two Mortal Kombat games in this spine ripping barnburner of an episode! We celebrate the truly gruesome and creative kills and uppercut ourselves in the face every time someone's head gets off in the second one. Some of these fatalities are iconic and still hold up and some just end with someone exploding in a pile of femurs. So many femurs.

I love the tier episodes, and if you have the $5 Patreon I highly recommend watching this episode, the visuals really brought it home. I used to stack quarters for weeks and then beg my mom to go grocery shopping with her, only to disappear into the arcade in the same strip mall and proceed to get my ass kicked by "older kids" MK II also had that bad ass side cabinet art, so you knew it wasn't fucking around. Anyway, great episode, look forward to

More tier lists and more video episodes, later nerds

Give Mike his Flowers - Kevin Hart Roast!

I'm a big Shane fan, so I love seeing Mike front and center in this writing crew pic (not sure if they wrote for the whole show or specific comics) anyway, haven't watched it yet, but I'm looking forward to it, give Mike his Flowers ya'll, Holden couldn't handle his IMDB profile! Jk Holden.

Whatcha Watchin, Whatcha Playin - Weekend Edition 5/8

Hello fellow nerds! I've been grinding away at another crabs treasure, really enjoying the forgiveness in this game, it's taken a lot not to change the difficulty setting to easy, but it's been worth the challenge, makes me rethink giving Eldenring another shot (that game destroyed me.) also playing MK1 story mode, haven't engaged directly with MK in years, love that Liu-Kang and Raiders rolls were swapped

Watching FROM, recommend it to everyone who likes a good puzzle box show, finished daredevil (meh) and am really really enjoying Widows Bay. Reading new Abs Superman, out this week, looking forward to Abs Green Arrow and the completion of Martina Manhunter, till next time fellow nerds, enjoy the Weekend!

What's up fellow nerds, headed into the weekend what are we playing, watching, reading, etc. I'm enjoying the streaming catalogue on ps+ with the Portal, solid piece of hardware. Currently enjoying Another Crabs Treasure, Mortal Kombat 1, and Resident Evil Village. Really enjoyed the first 2 episodes of FROM, looking forward to this Sundays. I found the Kevin Hart roast, it will be on Netflix. Been watching a lot of old Simpsons episodes, great for nostalgia laughs. Ready to read some comics tomorrow, hitting up the LCS (not so local but worth it) for free comic book day, and to pick up last weeks books, pumped to get my hands on Absolute Green Arrow...what are you nerds up to?

Welcome to this weeks discussion thread, found a fun piece of artwork on r/gaming for today's post but couldn't find an artist to give credit,

Today's Show Topic:

We've talked about video games based on movies but this time we're going the other way and focusing on movies that are based on video games and why they usually suck. Holden guides through the dark ages of Mario and Street Fighter, the darker ages of anything Uwe Boll has done, the mostly forgettable 2010s (There was in fact no need for speed) and how a little electric Pokémon gave the genre the creative spark it desperately needed and how we're still benefiting from it. . I guarantee this will be the most memorable podcast of your life. For us, it is Monday.

Leave your thoughts here on this week's episode, thanks Nerds!

Like many, I didn't know this came out, or I forgot? I knew Kevin had a widow maker, I listened to a lot of Fatman Beyond during the pandemic, but fully stopped about 3 years ago...

Not to dox myself, but being from NJ, Clerks hit in a very special way, it was a very small window into the world of "adulthood" at the time for me. Mallrats changed the mood and showed us a more jovial side of Kevin's writing. Chasing Amy was poignant, if you made this movie today it would be "woke" but at the time, I found it thoughtful, and saw some real emotional rawness behind the words. Dogma is 10/10, no notes, the cast, the pacing, and watching Kevin Smith protest his own movie in real time on the local news was something I'll never forget. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back brought us back to the Mallrats vibe with a Scooby-Doo sheen. And then, I just stopped watching Kevin Smith movies, maybe I thought I was too cool, maybe it's because I moved out of Jersey?Or I just wasn't cool enough, but an orator whom arguably shaped my early sense of humor, and taste of movies just went away.

Then I listened to the Kevin Smith episode, and a lot came flooding back, I decided to give Clerks III a shot, it's free on YouTube by the way. This movie wrecked me inside, I was unaware Kevin could still pull off his magic trick, and even if this wasn't the grand finale it was a hell of a send off. I cried, I laughed, I cringed at jokes that didn't land, and grinned at those that did, it really felt like a closing chapter for me. As I creep closer to Randal and Dante's fictional age, I start to analyze my own mortality. Who would I like to see from 28 years ago? Whose story did I need to know the end? I can't think of anyone honestly (let's exclude dead relatives) but not everyone can reach into the past and pull these actors/characters back and make it mean something, Kevin did, and for that I was pretty grateful, like a wise man once said "You know, there's a million fine looking women in the world, dude. But they don't all bring you lasagna at work. Most of 'em just cheat on you"
