picture taken at the hottest part of the day. the yard hasn't been messed with since last year. I need help with figuring out how to utilize this area. I want flowers and food and also grass 😭 Is this wishful thinking? I am willing to redo EVERYTHING about this backyard and even want to remove/kill the avocado tree.

New to this genre

I've read non fiction books like cook books, diy instructional, self help books (I think these fall under non fiction) but never something with I guess lore? I want to dive into that genre of non fiction but don't even know where to start. I love learning new things. I have a library of books including gardening, home medicine, self sustaining books, fantasy (loads of that). I want to read something real and be able to look it up after and find actual facts about it. I want to read something and possibly travel to the place where it happened and explore said area. idk if I'm making any sense...
