Cat Lab Result help? (9y old neutered male (lethargy and fever but getting better on antibiotics)
Hi,
Can someone please help me understand my cat’s (9y neutered male, indoor only) lab results? I brought him in after vomiting, lethargy, and decreased appetite over the course of ~30 hours. They did his bloodwork and told me everything was normal other than the fact that some electrolytes were low (“probably due to vomiting”) and he had a high fever (104F). They did x-rays and ultrasounds and found nothing. They put him on fluids for about 10 hours and I brought him home with an amoxicillin prescription and some famotidine to help with nausea. They also got back to me with the “unknown fever origin” results and said everything was negative. he is responding to the medication though and does seem A LOT better after about a day and half of taking it. he’s still weak but his appetite has come back full force and his temp is down to 101.4F
If anyone could help me take a look at these results and kind of dumb it down for me that would be great. I see a few “Low” indicators but those weren’t brought up by the vet so I’d like to know more about what those could mean and if I should be monitoring anything specific or providing supplements of any sort. Thank you so much ;-; I just want to get him feeling his best and it worries me that the fever just happened all of sudden without concrete cause.
i appreciate your time.
