I have an active bass. And that’s awesome, but I also don’t like how many 9volt batteries I need to buy, so I decided to take an old 9 volt DC power supply I found and use it to plug in my bass to the wall.

When I first tried connecting the wires, it sparked, and it didn’t work. I thought maybe I had just done something wrong, like connected the leads poorly, but then I noticed a weird smell coming from my bass’s circuit compartment. And now it not making noise whatsoever…

What is the likelihood I fried it, and if I did, would it be the preamp circuit? HPW do I go about getting this repaired? It’s a Curbow bass, and I’m pretty sure everything in it is stock. How much is getting this repaired gonna set me back? (If I even broke it)

Edit: DANG IT! Thanks everyone for helping me out, I guess I thought there would be a diode of some sort to keep things safe built into the preamp circuit for idiots like me. Below I’m attaching a photo of the preamp circuit, in the off chance anyone has any idea what new one I need to buy.
