As a casual language learner, textbooks are too boring. I just wanna learn while watching anime and listening to kpop, but the process is really inconvenient. Toggling between tabs, copy pasting into Google Translate, switching languages mid sentence (some Japanese words just make more sense in Chinese), then jumping to a chatbot to check if I'm even using it right... it kills the immersion and fun pretty quick.

So, I built LinGOAT, a free Chrome extension that handles all of that in one place.

It adds dual subtitles to any video on any website (YouTube, Netflix, Crunchyroll, etc.), with real time translation, bilingual support, built in notes, and an AI tutor. This is all with no tab switching, no data collection, no cost.

I initially built this to help my own learning, but it'd be great if it can help others too. I'd love feedback from people actually using it so I can make it genuinely useful. I'm actively improving it, so please give it a try let me know your thoughts! Thanks!
