Emphasize on avoiding pure tones

Hi, i'm new at this sub and at first i was so ashamed of posting my story, as I'm responsible (stupidly) of my first flare up. I want to raise counciousness topic so others not commit the same error.

My T started this february after an incident with a portable speaker (right next to my ear). Did prednisone (+ NAC and Mg) at max dose since day six, with mixed results initially.

2 weeks ago, as i was beggining to really recover, i decided to do a "test" of high frequencies, before reintroducing headphones, as the standard audiometry was normal. It was the worst thing i could ever do. I believed the volume was safe as the music i was playing before was very mildly loud. The test was with pure tones, playing from Sendy Aiva headphones and Fiio m11 pro DAC/amp, at volume 50/120 at low gain. The duration was i guess a few minutes. Probably 2 or 3.

Since then i'm having a new and loud sharp tone and more volume of background hiss, with noxoaxusis / hyperacusis (as i was overusing protection). I would say it's 5-10% better, but is hell anyways. My life went down as a house of cards, i'm starting to really depress.

Having said this, if anyone had a similar story and could give me some advice, or similar, i'll be grateful. And yes, after reading other posts i'm aware of the fact that it coud be permanent and the severity of the exposure.
