I was consuming a lot of Bond from YouTube/this sub while I was watching… and I think I was influenced on some picks, but I think I have some hot takes in here.
General thoughts:
I grew up with Craig (his movies were the only ones I had seen before this watch) and I think that shows in the rankings. I was also surprised how much I loved Spectre based on the sentiment in this sub.
I realized Brosnan is what my subconscious pictures when I think of Bond/a movie spy during this watch through. I assume it’s because I grew up with him being parodied or emulated as I grew up in the 00s/10s… he feels like the Bond emulated to create Archer for instance.
As I went through, I realized Connery was not my cup of tea, he had a lot of good not great ones.
Moore’s for me either hit or flopped. TSWLM was my only pre-Brosnan to crack the A tier but he was also the only to have two in D. TMWTGG feels underrated in this sub imo.
Dalton was good, Kara and Brad in TLD were one of the best Bond girl/villain combos in all the movies.
Lazenby wasn’t the best bond by any means, but I agree with the sub that pretty much everything else about the movie was some top tier Bond.
Tier logic:
S - Personal top 25 movie all-time
A - Fantastic movie irrespective of Bond
B - Solid movie I would actively rewatch
C - Good movie, probably would watch if it was on
D - Actively disliked, hard to get through
