Family Biking Trip Amsterdam to Brussels Itinerary
Hi! My siblings, nephew, and I are looking to do a bike ride in the Netherlands this July. We're from Canada (Toronto and Montreal) and are so exited to be able to ride the great bicycle infrastructure in the Netherlands :)
We have some priorities:
my sister has a slight visual disability so we'd like to stay on separated bike paths that don't share space with cars.
We'd also like to maybe stay at some smaller towns, perhaps along the coast for a few days, if there are any you recommend, especially if they are less busy and more affordable than cities.
We're trying to stay on mostly flat paths as my sister isn't an avid biker.
We'd love to see beautiful scenery, historic places, meet friendly people (we're racialized), etc.
We found this route online and I was wondering what you'd think:
Day 1: Amsterdam – Gouda/Oudewater
Day 2: Gouda/Oudewater - Papendrecht
Day 3: Papendrecht - Bergen op Zoom
Day 4: Bergen op Zoom - Antwerpen
Day 5: Antwerpen - Leuven/Louvain
Day 6: Leuven/Louvain - Brussels
Day 7: Departure from Brussels
If there are any other itineraries that you think are a better use of time, please let us know. We're flexible with making it slightly shorter or longer as well. We haven't book any flights yet.
Thanks so much!
