Boating career advice

Hey everyone, just looking for some advice from people in the boating industry.

I’m graduating soon with a business degree, but honestly boats and boating are what I’m truly passionate about. Whether it’s engines, fishing, electronics, or new center consoles coming out, I’m always interested in it. Right now I work as a dockhand at a marina, and while I enjoy it, I don’t really see much long-term growth where I’m at.

I’m planning on getting my captain’s license, but I’m also curious what other career paths are out there in the marine industry, whether that’s using my degree, the captain’s license, both together, or honestly neither. I’d rather build a career around something I actually love.

Does anyone here work in the industry or have any advice on good paths to look into? Open to hearing about anything in marinas, fishing, sales, chartering, marine tech companies, etc. Appreciate any advice.
