Not getting new student
Hello. I’ve been teaching Korean on Preply for four months now. Around two months in, the number of students became overwhelming, so I hid my profile for a while. About a week ago, I made my profile visible again.
However, since then, it feels like my profile has had almost no exposure at all. My profile ranking used to be fairly high — I was usually somewhere between rank 1 and 100. Now, out of around 2,200 Korean tutors, I’m ranked around 1,800 and it doesn’t seem to improve.
Preply keeps suggesting that I update my profile, but honestly, my profile score is basically the same as before. Could improving or redesigning my profile really make that much of a difference? Or is it possible that the algorithm is somehow suppressing or penalizing my profile?
