hey all, BI/Data Engineer here, moving back to India after 6 years in the US. starting to look at the job market and trying to figure out where i'd actually land comp-wise.

ideally want to join companies that pay close to US bands (even after conversion) or at least come close. couple of questions:

• is there a list of highest paying companies in India for BI / data roles? esp ones known for matching US comp
• which sites are actually reliable for salary research and job search in India? (levels.fyi works for some, but curious what else folks use)
• any specific companies BI engineers should target? US-HQ'd India offices, product companies, etc.

any leads, recs, or even honest "here's the realistic range" reality checks are welcome

Honestly i have no clue where to start lol, moving funds, what to do with bank account, taxes, 401k, closing credit cards, all of it feels overwhelming.

if anyone's done this recently, would love to hear what your pre-move and post-move checklist looked like. any tips, things you wish you'd done earlier, stuff you forgot until it was too late — all welcome
