how do i design the entry/reception to the home?

how do i design the entry/reception to the home?

hi folks,

i have a weird entry structure, it’s 442cm by 332cm. There’s also two windows on each side. Behind the camera is again a large floor to ceiling window on either side with a large french door with gridded glass on top and wood on bottom, this is the view once you open that door.

Because of the windows i’m having difficulty figuring out how to use it. I tried just putting down four chairs or two chairs and a bench but it looked like a waiting room. I tried removing all seating and making it sort of a storage and gallery but it looks like everyone will complain about wasting the space🥲. I am trying to make it a foyer now with console on one end and a day bed on the other now to not make it look like a waiting room.

I’m going for a parisian classic contemporary take, mostly want to try to use this area to sit and watch the rain or as an early stop for visitors we don’t want to bring further into the home.

any thoughts on what i should try? it’s the first interior space people see so i dont want to make it look cheap.

AI Generated - Looking for feedback on bed in a narrow room.

Hi folks, i’ve been trying to figure out how to make the best out of a smaller bedroom. What do you think?

The proportions are accurate btw, i used sketchup to create a 6ft bed in the room with cupboard and window then styled on top of it using AI.

Was originally thinking of swing door wardrobes but couldn’t figure out how to open the door on the very left so decided to make it sliding with three tracks.

I lifted the bed frame a bit because my parents asked for the robotic vacuum cleaner to be able to go under it.

Floor to ceiling curtains as usual.

Added two layer headboard with the outer layer being very wide to fake the sense of a larger room.

The rug might go as I’m not sure if it suits in Kerala humidity.

Vacuum cleaner under the bed to calm my mom.

figuring out how to add a door between cupboards

the way my house is designed, we have a door in the middle of a wall as an entry towards the bathroom. i want to make this wall look good while also adding storage on the sides.

i’ve generated my idea, what do you guys think? i don’t want to go the usual route where in people try to hide the doors, i don’t want guests to get lost and i have seen too many people fail with alignment trying to make doors part of walls, i just want the combination to look good.

thoughts on this design?

Has anyone seen French/Parisian contemporary interiors done well in India?

I’m trying to understand various styles to figure out how to discuss my style with interior designer and this one looks to be what i’m trying to achieve, but i haven’t been able to find good examples of it being done in india, would anyone have any example projects? thanks!!

hi folks, it’s me again, while i’m trying to figure out an interior designer for my home i’ve been playing around with AI and decided to try my hand at the family living area. i want to maximise comfort and cozy feelings in this are and ideally be inviting for the family to spend time here and live around the coffee table during evenings.

what do you think?

to get approval from my mother i’ll likely have to make the sofa leather 😁

hi folks, i have a 2.5m wide corridor around the bedroom area and want to make use of it? i was thinking of seating like this on one end and a storage cabinet on the other with a coffee machine and maybe a mini fridge below. thinking of turning it into a private family space when we don’t feel like going into the common area.

i attached the rendering of it, would you guys have any feedback?

the glass door in the end is like that because it opens up into a part inside the house, it’s not the entrance or anything so not a security risk.

thanks frens
