So I just purchased a 2004 Audi S4 the V8 naturally aspirated knowing that it was going to need timing chain replacement. So without getting debate on whether or not this was a sound financial decision I want to know what kind of cost am I looking at because from what I understand this particular engine and model of S4 the engine has to come out completely for timing chain repair. The car is immaculate. It hasn’t been driven hard. It has a total of 106,000 miles for a 22-year-old Car. So I’m expecting the cost to be somewhere in the ballpark between four to $8000. Is that reasonable? And it is a manual transmission.
