Hey everyone,

Looking for some advice from people who may have faced a similar situation.

I recently received my ITA for PR, but before accepting it I noticed an issue in my profile. I had selected the wrong NOC code for my work experience.

- Entered NOC: 41402

- Correct NOC (based on duties): 62100

- Job title: Inside Sales Analyst (duties are more aligned with sales/marketing consulting)

The confusion happened mainly because of the job title — some duties overlap, but after reviewing more closely, 62100 is clearly a better fit.

A few important points:

- Our CRS score does NOT change even if I correct or completely remove this experience

- Even without this experience, our score is ~532 (still above cutoff)

- Both NOCs fall under eligible TEER categories

My lawyer suggested accepting the ITA and adding a Letter of Explanation stating it was an honest mistake and correcting the NOC in the application.

I’m considering two options:

  1. Accept ITA + correct NOC + LOE

  2. Decline ITA, fix profile, and wait for next draw

Has anyone gone through something similar?

Would really appreciate any insights or personal experiences 🙏
