Is AI a danger for professional photographers?

I’m currently working on an essay for school about our experiences and new knowledge that we collected at a 2 week internship. I decided to do my internship at a photo studio and my chef there deffo uses ai for photoshop and photo editing but I yet couldn’t find an answer to a question that I want to answer in my essay.
In times of AI and improving phone cameras (that also include ai features), why should someone go rather to a professional photographer than use ai?

I hope someone can help me with this, since this essay is quite important to me. I’m also thinking about becoming a photographer myself so I would love to know from others that already have some expertise in this.
Thanks!
